@Tyler – Braun just said there were 15 FedEx locations that would have been open on that Saturday.

If Braun is truly innocent, I would expect him to file lawsuits.

I don’t think we’re seeing the whole story on the chain of custody issues. See Addendum A, Section XI-E of http://mlb.mlb.com/pa/pdf/jda.pdf, the current drug testing policy. You’re threading a very fine needle by saying that storing the sealed samples in a basement isn’t within these parameters. It could very easily be that the ruling was based on the fact that there’s no established procedure for what to do if FedEx is closed, but I feel like that’s too tight a restriction for an arbitrator to overrule a suspension.

Since there’s no public written report, all we have are “sources.” Maybe those sources aren’t giving the full picture. Is there reason to believe the sample may have been contaminated? Is there just too much fishy with the “insanely high” result in a guy with a history (before and after this test) of clean tests? I’d like to see this all on paper, but for now, all we get is sources and speculation. Pretty sure ESPN prefers it that way.

Pedro better than Cy? I don’t think so. Pedro wasn’t even the best pitcher in Mets history.

Not to say he wasn’t a great pitcher/athlete/competitor/personality.

Several yrs ago Sherri and I were on a cruise. We sat by Tim’s mother and farther for meals. He grew up in Melbourne, FL.. It was interesting and fun to talk to them about their son’s career in BIGS. He started his professional ball as a 1st baseman. His genesis w knuckle ball began when he threw ground balls to infielders at beginning of each inning.

He realized he would not get to majors as 1st baseman, so he became a pitcher, and the rest is history.
