World Wide WednesdayWorld Wide WednesdayThoughts on Clay Matthews’ Extension With The Packers

NFL News and Notes

- Aaron Rodgers went 4-4 with two home runs in Donald Driver’s celebrity softball game. When he retires, can he pretty please be Wisconsin’s governor?

- Drew Brees is absent from the start of Saints mandatory mini-camp. This probably hasn’t been a very fun offseason for Saints fans.

- Jahvid Best is not concerned about his past concussion history: ”I’m pretty sure if there was any real damage going on, I would have physical problems and mental problems.” I’m, uh, pretty sure that’s not how it works.

- Terrell Suggs says that he is going to “shock a lot of people” by playing next season. If he does so effectively and doesn’t re-injure his achilles, I’d be one of them.

- New Colts head coach Chuck Pagano says that the team is “re-loading, not re-building.” He doesn’t actually believe that–he was contractually obligated to say it, though.

- Atari Bigby is in line to land a starting safety job with the Chargers. I hope that Chargers fans enjoy 15-yard penalties that extend drives after a third down stop as much as I did! No word yet on whether the Chargers are also pursuing Ahmad Carroll and Johnny Jolly.
